Good Neighbours

Anti - social behaviour (ASB) means different things to different people. You may not think an impromptu house party until 4 am after your Wednesday night out in town is not that big of a deal as you don't have to be up until lunchtime on Thursday...but your neighbours who have to be up for work at 7am after a sleepless night with two small kids, may think differently...

Similarly, you may not think this affects because you're living in halls but there are people that live near you that are not necessarily all students and they don't want to be woken up at silly o'clock by you and your mates on the way home screaming and declaring love for each other.

To be clear, ASB is many things, including:

  • Noisy neighbours and loud parties
  • Threatening and abusive behaviour, vandalism and graffiti
  • Drunken and rowdy groups
  • Drug related problems
  • Abandoned vehicles, dumping and fly tipping

The City Council operates a Night Time Noise Service, Nightwatch, seven nights per week between 8pm and 4am. They can be contacted by ringing 0300 1000 101 and will respond to neighbour noise as quickly as possible.
